Abyssinian Breeders

Opting for quality over quantity, Absolute is a small cattery raising kittens who are happy, healthy, and loving little creatures. Never caged and raised underfoot in my home/office, they are additionally socialized by two playful and protective Dobermans. While Absolute has enjoyed significant success in the showhall (4 Regional Winners in the past 4 years), the primary goal of the breeding program is health and dispostion, first; show success comes second. Coefficient of inbreeding (COI) is calculated for each mating, keeping it as low as possible. Recently, a fabulous female was imported from Italy as an complete outcross, thus expanding the gene pool. When kittens leave for home, generally at 4 months of age, they are fully vaccinated, microchipped, surgically altered (neuter/spay), and come with a written health guarantee. References required.

We are a small Abyssinian breeding home which specializes in well socialized, happy, loving kittens and cats. Our kittens are raised in our home, not in cages, they are part of our family and our everyday lives. We do our best to make sure that the kittens we provide are an excellent representation of the breed, free from health problems, and most importantly outgoing and lovable.

Bearbrook Abyssinians is a small cattery in central Florida. Our abys are raised with love and are socialized with people, dogs and
other cats. Abyssianians are very intelligent, inquisitive and love human
companionship.

We usually breed only one or two litters at a time, in order to give the kittens lots of attention and time in our laps. The colors depend entirely on the parents and their genetics. We can have Ruddy, Cinnamon (Sorrel/Red), Blue and Fawn, as well as Silver, Cinnamon (Sorrel/Red) Silver, Blue Silver and Fawn Silver. Sometimes we have Somali kittens, usually in the Silver colors.

Front Range, established in 1991 and located in the foothills southwest of Denver, Colorado, is a small cattery specializing in Abyssinians and Somalis. Our cats are registered with and participate in shows sponsored by the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). We do NOT ship our cats and kittens.

Our Bengals and Abyssinians are raised in our home and underfoot. We spend a great deal of time with the kittens and cats to socialize them as family members.

Good purebred registered cats are not inexpensive. You generally get what you pay for!

It is true that you can find Bengal and Abyssinian kittens priced very low, but in most cases, these will not have the bright colors and vivid markings that you see on Bengals pictured on websites and in magazines, or the wild puma look of the ancient breed of Abyssinians. There is a lot of expense involved in raising quality kittens, more than most people realize, so please do your homework when looking for a Bengal or Abyssinian. Remember cheaper is not always better!

We normally raise only one litter at a time and kittens are raised in the house, not in cages, with lots of love from everyone in the family (which includes two children and a chocolate lab) so they are very loving and affectionate. We are close to Washington DC, Baltimore, and Northern VA. We welcome kitten inquiries for show or pet.

We ship, but prefer to place locally.

We have a small farm that we named BriarValley. The goal of our farm was to raise our children with a rural lifestyle. This included raising animals and participation in the 4-H program. During the 18 years of 4-H we raised rabbits, horses, sheep and goats.

The 4-H years are past and Colleen pursued a long standing interest in selecting a breed of cat to show and raise. Abyssinians were the breed selected after at least two years of research. She has been showing and raising Abyssinians since 2003.

BriarValley Kittens are registered with CFA and/or TICA and shown in both associations.

We started our breeding program for our love of Abyssinians and also to make the breed stronger, healthier and with better lines. The kittens are handled from birth and also share our home with female Abyssinians, an Egyptian Mau, a Bengal, a Dalmatian an two horses. When you purchase one of our loving kittens you can be sure they will be 100% healthy with a copy of my veterinarian’s report. Your kitten will have all necessary shots and will be neutered or spayed so you will receive all your kitten’s papers and family tree at the time of pickup. We never ship any of our babies but will be happy to make arrangements for pickup.

My kittens are treated as part of the family and they sleep with me, although when they are at the stage when they want to play every two hours all night long, I move out. They never go out side.
Kittens do not leave until at least thirteen weeks of age and usually older as it is my responsibility to find the best home for each.
Kittens go to their new homes with a negative FeLv test and a contract which stipulates that they will be spayed or neutered. I do NOT ship my kittens.

Kelela Abyssinians is a small cattery wiith one male stud and two breeding females. All cats are raised underfoot. We also have a huge outdoor aviary that was turned into an outdoor playground for the cats. There is fresh water and electricity in the playground. Weather permitting they enjoy time outside chasing and climbing cat trees and large tree branches spaced safely in the enclosed playground. My Abys are bred and raised to be healthy, loving, family cats. Their lineage has Champions, Grand Champions, Supreme Champions, Regional Wins, and International titles in their breeding. We concentrate on beautiful ruddy and red lines.

Placing Abyssinian kittens and cats in the Mid-Atlantic and New England states for over 18 years, we take pride in our small program as we concentrate all our efforts to improving the health, temperament and characteristics of the Abyssinian. The kittens have human contact from the moment they are born and are raised underfoot for their entire time that they are with us. We have only a few Abyssinians, which allows for all to roam free as family pets. We feel that this is extremely important not only for the health and wellness but also for socialization of the kittens as well as the adults.

Our special babies are placed as indoors only, not declawed, neutered/never bred and may leave for new homes at 12-16 weeks with health guarantees and first vaccinations. We never sell pets for breeding and we never use pet quality in our breeding program.
